Knots Landing was a very popular prime time drama. After 14 years of being on the air, the producers finally decided to wrap things up. It was the second longest prime time soap opera on television.
The show was created by David Jacobs and Michael Filerman. Knots Landing's first episode aired on December 27, 1979 and it's last episode in 1993, making it have a total of 344 episodes. The show was a spin off of Dallas. The show Dallas aired first but the producers thought that it needed "something more", they were to create a whole new show, Knots Landing. The producers of the show had no idea how the show would turn out. They were very suprised on how it "took off". Through it's entire 14 years on television, Knots Landing always aired on CBS. |
